How do One Day Licenses work?

If you're permitting a competitive event with us we will require participants to have either an annual license or a one day license.

Why are One Day licenses important? 

1. Insurance coverage: USA Cycling requires all participants in our competitive events to have a valid license, either an annual membership or a one-day license. This requirement ensures that participants are covered by liability and accident insurance provided by USA Cycling. In the event of an accident or injury during the event, having a license ensures that the participant can receive appropriate medical coverage and protection. The license offers the one day license holder $25,000 excess medical coverage during the day of the event.

2. Participant identification: The license serves as a form of identification for participants in the event. It allows event organizers to easily identify and verify participants who are eligible to compete. This helps maintain the integrity of the event and ensures that only registered participants take part.

3. Access to competitive opportunities: Having a one-day license allows individuals who are not annual members of USA Cycling to participate in their events. This can be beneficial for casual riders, beginners, or individuals who are new to the sport and may not want to commit to a full annual membership. The one-day license provides them with the opportunity to experience and compete in organized cycling events without a long-term commitment.

How to access your event specific One Day License registration code:

Within the permit under the pre-event tab you will locate the One Day Registration section. Download and share out the QR code for those that will need to purchase a One Day license to compete in your event. 

Please follow these steps to access your specific event QR code: 

1. Login to your USA Cycling Account 
2. Select the permitting tab in your account
3. Then select event management tab 
4. From here select your event that you would like to use the One Day QR Code
5. Once in the permit select the Pre-Event tab, there you will find where you can download your QR code to add to event flyers
