What is the purpose of the Continuing Education (CEU) Program?
The CEU program is designed to provide directed, ongoing development of coaches centered around certified specializations. It aims to build knowledge in key areas, ensuring that coaches are equipped with the latest coaching methodologies and practices.
Are the levels courses going away?
No, The CEU program exists to support the levels courses and is part of ongoing continuing education once you complete your level 3, 2, or 1.
What are the requirements for maintaining my coaching certification?
Coaches will need to complete 6 CEU credits in 2024.
Level 3 coaches are required to complete 10 CEU credits per year. This ensures continuous learning and skill development, keeping coaches at the forefront of cycling coaching knowledge.
Level 1 and 2 Coaches are required to complete 15 CEU credits per year.
What are the specializations available in the CEU program?
The CEU program offers four areas of specialization. Coaches will focus on achieving certification within these specializations through a mix of CEU courses and live events.
These specializations along with a detailed chart of courses will be released in Q4 of 2024.
How are the CEU credits earned?
Credits can be earned through completing courses and participating in live events. All approved CEUs can be access at learn.usacycling.org
Recertification
CEUs gained while a coach's license is inactive or suspended will not count towards CEU requirements. CEUs will only be accepted if achieved with an active coaching license. Continuing education does NOT include the daily activities of a coach, such as attending training, leading training rides, meeting with athletes, etc.
What is the format of the CEU live events?
Live events are 1-hour sessions that include a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. These events are designed to be interactive, allowing coaches to engage with experts and peers.
Other live event opportunities will be posted in the LMS as they become available.
How do I sign up for CEU courses and live events?
Coaches can sign up for CEU courses and live events through the USA Cycling LMS. Ensure to register ahead of time to secure your spot.

Will third party CEUs be accepted?
Coaches can earn credits from third-party CEUs as listed by USA Cycling. Third party providers will be added to the LMS when they come available.
